‘Maintaining trust’ covers the elements that underpin our responsible business strategy that includes our approach to protecting people and data, as well as how we ensure we act ethically, lawfully and integrity wherever we operate.
Ireland, Lesotho, Mozambique, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Tanzania and the UK; and – Shared operations in Albania, Egypt, Hungary, India, Portugal, Romania, Türkiye and Spain. Contract type, employee turnover and footprint disclosures are based solely on employee’s average headcount and excludes contractors. Employee Turnover We calculate employee turnover as the number of male or female leavers compared to total overall leavers during the reported year. Turnover of employees on fixed term and temporary contracts is included where the contract has terminated before the contractual end date. Voluntary turnover is the departure of the employee by their own decision (which includes retirements and death-in-service), whereas involuntary turnover is the termination of employment by Vodafone.

People We report the average headcount in our direct operations for the financial year. This is calculated using monthly headcount information which is averaged for the year and includes both employees and contractors. Employees are individuals holding a permanent or fixed term employment contract with Vodafone and paid via company payroll.
Contractors include:
– Individuals that provide a service for a fixed period of time and are employed by a company or agency that contracts with Vodafone for the provision of the service; and – Temporary workers who are supervised by Vodafone employees, not paid via company payroll but are employed and paid via an agency. All headcount figures exclude non-controlled operations such as those in the Netherlands, Kenya, Australia and India, and discontinued operations in Vodafone Spain and Vodafone Italy.
